Kaiju directly translates to "strange creature," but to most people, it has simply come to mean "giant monster,” and a destructive one at that! One that particularly enjoys dividing its time between stomping, burning, and bashing through large urban centers in Japanese movies and fighting other Kaiju or the military. For Westerners, the most famous Kaiju are Godzilla, Mothra, and King Kong.
